The Last Bit of Summer

We have been home four weeks now.  The kids and I have tried to have as much fun as possible during these last weeks of summer!

Samuel had his first ChickFilA sandwich at the mall.  Yummy!

Justin enjoys his waffle fries.

And Keelan, too.

Our church had their annual neighborhood carnival.  It was hot, but lots of fun!  Caylie wore her swimming suit to go down the water slide, but Samuel didn't want to.

Justin and his double cheeseburger.

Samuel and me.

Jim and the kids in one of the tents.

Keelan manned the popcorn station.

Caylie went down this slide twice in a row and had a great time.  Then the third time she cried and was terrified.  Silly kid.

Justin was the maker of snow cones.

Samuel had his face painted like the Incredible Hulk.
 I don't know why!

Caylie enjoying a hamburger with her friend Genesis.

We love spending time with cutie pie Tessa.  She's going to be a year old soon!

Sweet Tessa with her mama, Brittany.

And her daddy, Brad.

Last week we got to spend time with our long-time friends, Jeff and Mary.  Jim and I have known them since college.  They live in Pennsylvania now and we hadn't seen them in several years.  It was great fun to catch up!

This Sorry game was one of the things that Jim's co-workers gave to Samuel.  Now he wants to play it all the time!

Samuel loves the trampoline in our back yard, but he won't let me get any pictures of him jumping on it.  Whenever he sees me with the camera, he sits down.  Silly kid!  Our poor yard is all brown and dead.  We've hardly had any rain since we got home from China.

Me and my boy at the reservoir.

Samuel and Caylie have discovered painting with water colors.  I had these paint sets left over from my teaching days, and they found them.

On Mondays and Fridays, we watch Tessa while Brittany decorates Dairy Queen cakes.

Auntie Caylie is going to miss that when school starts!

Me and two more of my boys!  And more silliness.

And here is my 4th boy!  We don't see Taylor much these days.  He shows up to do his laundry!

Keelan got out the Guitar Hero guitars the other day.

And Samuel soon learned how to play.

And then it was Rock Band, too!

Daddy brought home a Colorado Rockies 500-piece puzzle.  We worked on it one day when it was very hot outside.

And by that afternoon, it was finished!  Keelan and Justin were actually happier about it than they look, haha.

And for the final picture, here is a selfie by Samuel.  He rarely wants his picture taken, so this a rare shot!

School starts Monday!
