Echo Lake - Brittany's Birthday!

On Saturday we took a trip to Echo Lake for Brittany's birthday.  It turned out to be cloudy and not a good photo day, so if you want to see nicer photos of a beautiful mountain lake, you can look at this post!  We had a lot of fun, though, and Caylie was a serious mountain climber on her first trip to the mountains!

The road out of Denver to Idaho Springs.

Yummy lunch at Beau Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs.

The Birthday Girl!

Cloudy Echo Lake.

Heading up the trail.

My five children!

Justin being Justin.

We walked up hill on a dirt/rock trail for at least 30 minutes.  I kept waiting for Caylie to fuss about it or want to be carried, but she walked all the way up all by herself!

Looking over the ridge from the top!

Mama and Baba with Caylie at the top!

Caylie and her jie jie.

Photo bomb.

Brittany and Brad with Caylie.

Taylor and Keelan.

And then the perfect way to top off the day . . . a trip to Cold Stone!

Yummy!

Caylie's First Trip to Aurora Reservior

Most summers we get a season pass to Aurora Reservoir, about 10 miles from our house, and spend a couple mornings a week playing in the sun, water, and sand.  Yesterday was Caylie's first day at the reservoir!

Hmm.  What is this weird, squishy stuff I'm standing on, and what are all these things my family brought??

Jie jie Brittany thinks it's OK, so I guess I can try it.

Oooh, and shooting my brothers with water is pretty fun, too!

Sand castles with Justin and Brittany.

Contemplating which sand bucket to fill next.

Having a fun time in the water.

More sand castles with Keelan.

Pretty girl!

One Month!

Yesterday was our one-month anniversary of Gotcha Day and today is our one-month anniversary of Adoption Day!  So fun to think that our sweet girl has been with us that long already, after waiting such a long time for her!  We've been doing a lot of fun and new things this week!

Hanging out at Daddy's softball game with friends.

Playing some tennis.

The whole crew at the tennis courts.  Keelan was happy to be there.  Really.
(And this is the first photo I've gotten of my FIVE children!)

Eating her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  She likes it, but it must be cut up into bite-sized pieces and eaten with a fork.   Yes, we've tried this twice now, with the same results.

First visit to the dentist!  She was amazing.  I was amazed enough at the doctor's office last week, but this was incredible.  She just let the hygienist do whatever she needed to, without the slightest fuss.  Kinda funny, from a girl who freaked out at even having a toothbrush in her mouth a month ago!

And then the dentist came in and even used a pick!

Keelan cleaned out our old turtle sandbox so Caylie could use it as a wading pool.

Yeah, I kind of cut off her head.  It was very sunny and I could hardly see my phone screen.  Oh well, still cute.  :)

And since she'd done so well at the doctor and the dentist, we decided to give chiropractic a try!  She watched her brothers and mama get adjusted, and then climbed right up.  This girl is amazing.

And she has all her big brothers wrapped around her finger.  Taylor hasn't sat on this swing in years and years.  Haha!

First trip to ChickFilA!!  Yummy!!!

Caylie's First Rockies Game!

Caylie went to her first Rockies game yesterday.  We had lots of FUN!  We had good seats, the weather was nice, and the Rockies won!

Caylie is ready for the game!

Buying snacks at the grocery store.

Waiting for the game to start.

Caylie and mama.

She was SO HAPPY when Dinger the Dinosaur arrived on the field!

I love Dinger!

Just because her shoes are so cute . . .

. . . and so is her shirt!

Enjoying some raisins . . .

 . . . and a churro.

It started out cloudy and sprinkling a little, but then the sun came out.

And now we're on to the peanuts.  It's all about the snacks, right??

Silly gege Keelan always makes peanut earrings.

The jumbo tron says "Rockies Win!!"

Players shaking hands and leaving the field after their win!

Hanging out with Tulo in club level after the game.

I think this is my favorite.  :)

Heading back to the car.

Phew.  That was a long day of excitement!
