Well, it turns out that re-entry was a little difficult for the family, but the girl is doing great! Jim and the boys all have some sort of colds, and I have dealt with serious insomnia, ugh! But Caylie is taking it all in stride and is adjusting SO well to our home and family.
She's had a few times of deep sadness, but I just hold her and rock her and rub her head, and after awhile she is OK again. Most of the time this would happen at night when she's tired and there's less going on to take her mind off of things. She seems to have turned a corner with that, though, as the last three nights she has gone to bed with no crying or even fussing. I think we're getting a routine down and she feels more comfortable with things.
She has learned a few English words - shoes, socks, Lucy, Justin, brusha brusha (for when we brush her teeth!), bye bye, cart (she loves to ride in store carts!), and probably a few more that I'm not thinking of right now. She understands WAY more than she says, though. We've really not had much trouble with communication at all.
Yesterday we went to the doctor to have a couple of issues checked out (which were fine.) Turns out that she IS on the growth charts! Yep, she is at .1 % for both height and weight! Yes, that is POINT one. Haha!
Here are a few pictures from our first 10 days at home!
This is the first full day at home. She is very chipper and cute. I was not.
One of my worries was that she would HATE the carseat, never having been in one. But from the very first time I put her in it, she's been perfectly fine!
She loves this swing. Hasn't tried the regular swings yet, but this one is fun. And sometimes she falls asleep in it! (Note the Potato Head earrings!)
She LOVES Kai-Lan! (You'll notice she's wearing her Kai-Lan shirt in many photos. Always her first choice.)
She did so well at the doctor's office! Sat right up there and did everything he asked without a fuss. So proud of her!
Most photos must include these glasses.
She eats almost anything we give her.
Jie jie and mei mei modeling their Potato Head earrings.
Oh my. The first time I brushed her teeth, I came to the quick conclusion that she'd never had her teeth brushed before. She totally freaked out and her gums bled, poor thing. So we've been taking it slowly, and we've actually been using toothpaste for two nights now! She says, "brusha brusha!"
She loves her "da gege" (biggest brother) Taylor, and Lucy, who is bigger than she is!
Time for night-night.
Rockin' the glasses and her HK Disney shirt.
Putting on make-up with a crayon.
Swinging in the yard.
Sweet girl.
Making new friends at church.
Visiting Brittany at Dairy Queen. Yum yum!
