We are learning more and more about our girl. First of all, she talks and talks and talks. I need to have the camcorder ready to record her, as we know this will not last once she begins to learn English. It's adorable to listen to, even though we don't have a clue what she's saying! Well, we did know what she said when she told Baba "Bu yao!" (Don't like!!) when he took her ice cream to feed her when she wanted to feed herself!
She definitely knows what she wants and what she doesn't want, and she can definitely can throw a fit when the need arises! So far she does NOT like: the swimming pool, the Ergo carrier, having her hair washed, having her teeth brushed, or taking off her new shoes. (Oh, and daddy feeding her when she wants to feed herself!) But mostly, she's a very happy girl. She plays and sings and talks to herself and smiles and laughs. She looooves her gege Keelan! She lights up every time he comes into the room. And boy, are they rowdy together!
Here are a few photos from the day. I had more, but I realized too late that I didn't have the card in the camera when I took the last batch. Sorry, Aunt Tina.
Admiring herself in her dress, just like yesterday.
Eating at KFC, which was an experience. No English speakers here. And interesting food, as you can see from the signs. Anyway, Caylie JiuChang liked it. Note, she is eating her strawberry sundae with one hand, and a chicken nugget in the other.
And now for some photos of Walmart! Yes, that building with the Walmart sign on it is the Walmart.
They have carts that can not only be pushed backward and forward, but also sideways. Here are Keelan and his friend Bryce demonstrating.
So . . . I looked for Asian baby dolls in Aurora, and could never find any. I decided to get one for Caylie JiuChang when we got to China. But looky here at what kind of dolls are in the Walmart in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. Blonde-haired Anglo babies! Sigh . . .
The main store. Looks just a tad bit different, doesn't it?
Different kinds of meats.
And different kinds of seafood . . .
And stuff I don't know.
Dragon fruit. Caylie JiuChang doesn't like these.
Justin admiring the huge selection of strange Walmart offerings.
Here are some fun products that we bought!
And just because this just happened, here is one more photo of Caylie JiuChang getting ready for bed. Shoes still on, of course. :D

Walmart was one of our hmmmm shopping trips! The boys were very interested in hanging out in the fish market part of the store.
ReplyDeleteCaylie looks like she is doing well! Continuing to pray for everyone!
Praying for you! Caylie is beautiful!

Love the picture in the shoes!
ReplyDeleteJoy, like you I had figured to buy Asian dolls for our girls in China. Seems reasonable, right? I went shopping with Ann of Red Thread and told her this request. She said that we would not find Asian toy baby dolls in China. The parents think they are too expensive for play and don't purchase them. She said we would have to buy them back in the states!! We ended up ordering them from Amazon when we got back. I thought that was pretty sad, but apparently that is the explanation for the blondies there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to see a bit of your time with your beloved family in China. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. Continued prayer as you get to know your little one. Will be praying you find a doll for her that you are looking for.
