Last Step Before DTC.

Well, Christmas is over.  I'm always amazed at how quickly it comes and how quickly it goes.  We had a wonderful time with family and friends.  I am so grateful to our Father for each one of them.  We are very, very blessed.

This picture was taken on Christmas day on our friends' deck.  Yes, we had a beautiful white Christmas in Colorado!

On Wednesday, Jim and I  took our I-797 form to be certified at the Colorado Secretary of State office.  Then yesterday I drove that up to our agency, and later that day all of our documents were sent to the Chicago consulate to be authenticated.  That should come back in a few days, and then we will be DTC (Dossier To China)!!  We have worked toward this goal for over five months, so I will so SO GLAD to finally have everything finished on our end.  Then we will wait some more, haha.

Please pray for families who are in process of adoption from Russia.  You may have heard that Russia has stopped all adoptions to the U.S., even those who are close to being finalized.  With Russian adoptions there are mandatory trips to visit the child before bringing them home, so several of these parents have already met and bonded with their children and vice versa.  These children fully expect that their new parents will return for them soon.  They full expect to have a family.  And now this will keep that from happening, with no explanation to these little ones.  If you've seen video of orphanages in Russia, you know that they are not any kind of place you'd want your child to be.  Please pray that our God, for Whom nothing is too difficult, will intervene for these helpless ones and for these families who have already given their hearts and sacrificed so much.
