September Happenings

We started off September with Labor Day fun!

Enjoying yummy shave ice at Bahama Buck's!

A random photo that Daddy took of Caylie.
Her hair is getting so long!

We went to our first Turner Syndrome Walk!
Caylie met her new friend Bailey, who is from Florida and the same age.  I met Bailey's mom Ashley on Facebook in a Turner Syndrome Parents group.  Their family is in process of adopting a little girl from China, who also has TS.

 The girl's had their faces painted;
one of Caylie's favorite things.

The finished product!

There were lots of other activities, as well.

All the girls and women at the event who have Turner Syndrome.  Very fun for Caylie to see she's not alone.

The Butterfly Parade

Bailey and her family.  It was great to meet them!

 Caylie's Butterfly Team!
There were some people from Jim's work who were also on the team, but they had to leave earlier.
(And poor Justin was at home doing AP homework.)

Eaglecrest Homecoming Week!
Justin did his third year on the Spirit Bus, going to several elementary and middle schools that feed into EHS.

Elias, Caylie, and Tessa, waiting for the Homecoming Parade.  Caylie has her bag ready for candy!
Justin and Sam were both in the parade with the band and the freshman football team.  Very fun for this mama!

Pep Rally after the parade.

Homecoming Game!
Eaglecrest vs. Legacy.  Raptors win!  🏈

Video of the Raptor Regiment Halftime Show

The Raptor Regiment went to the Friendship Cup Marching Band Competition in Colorado Springs in late September.  The band boosters worked hard to get all the food prepared the night before.  Here is a group of them making breakfast burritos at our house.  Lots of fun!

200 burritos!

Getting ready for the first performance.

Heading to the stadium.

So proud of them!

Our Dossier in is China!

Thanks for your prayers regarding our USCIS bump in the road.  It took three weeks that we did not want to waste, but it got worked out and our I800a was approved.  God is sovereign over it all, so we need to trust Him for the timing of all this, even if it's not what we've decided we want!

Our dossier was sent to China on September 11 and arrived there on the 16th.  We are now awaiting notice that it's been logged in to the system.  Then it will take a few weeks for all the documents to be translated and gone over with a fine tooth comb!  Please pray that we would trust God for the timing of this and for the financing of it all.  We know that the One who has called us is faithful and He will do it!  (1 Thessalonians 5:24)

August Fun

We try to get as much fun as we can out of our HOA pool!
We like having family and friends there with us!

Justin is the best swimmer in the family, but I can only get him to come to the pool once or twice a year!

Our little friends Matthew and Isaac.

And their little sister Norah.

Keelan was the best man in his friend Jordan's wedding.
We have known Jordan's family since we moved to Colorado 23 years ago.  His parents were some of the first people we met here.   It is bittersweet to remember the births and childhoods of so many kids who are now all grown up.

Jordan, Keelan, and Graham have known each other all their lives.  So fun to see them in this wedding together.

These photos are not the best.  I took them from where we were sitting and had to really zoom in!

Graham came out from Indiana to be a groomsman.  I was his 3rd grade teacher.  I also remember the day his mama told me she was pregnant with him.  I am old.  And sappy. ;)

Shenanigans at the reception!

Keelan gave his best man speech with an Irish accent.
I thought I had it recording, but I did not.

We sold shirts to support our adoption.
I think they're really cool.

Jim completed his year in the School of Ministry at
Calvary Chapel Aurora.

School of Ministry dinner at Maggiano's.

 And then school started again!

Caylie, 4th grade at Global Village Academy Douglas County.

Samuel, 9th grade at Eaglecrest High School.
Justin, 11th grade at Eaglecrest High School.

Caylie likes Brittany's new doggie.

Justin and I did a lot of driving practice.
We have a lot more to do.

Caylie went to a Turner Syndrome Colorado swim party, and met some new friends.

And the best news!  Samuel decided to give his life to Jesus in July, and was baptized at Calvary Aurora in August!  Please pray for him.  God is redeeming his life.   We are grateful for the pastors in these photos - and several others - who have come alongside him in this journey.

Raptor Rally!

Justin had the honor of beginning "Put Your Hands Up!" in the school pep rally!  So proud of him.

And Jim referee'd the football scrimmage.

Samuel was with the freshman team.

The marching band had their first parade at Western Welcome Week in Littleton.
