Travel Update

Travel Update!
Well, the update is: we have no update. With the current state of things in China with the virus outbreak, we are kind of in a holding pattern. Families who were scheduled to travel this week and next have been told to delay their travel, but not much is known for dates after that. A couple of agencies have reported that all adoption travel has been suspended for now, but others are saying that those decisions are left to the individual provinces. No one seems to know for sure what is going on!
Since our travel is still more than a month out, we are just waiting to see how things develop with this virus in the next few weeks. We are trusting God for his timing, for His care of our sweet girl, and for all the logistics of travel that would have to change if we were told to delay.
Please pray for the people of China, that as they go through this scary and difficult time, that they would be drawn to the hope and peace of the one true God. Pray that our Father, who is the Creator and Sustainer of all life, would bring healing to these people and would bring an end to this sickness. Pray that the officials in China and in other countries would have wisdom about how to proceed with this whole thing, in keeping people safe. Pray for the children and their caretakers in orphanages, that they would remain safe and well. Pray for the hearts of adoptive families, who have had their plans changed and now have to wait even longer to go to their children.
We know that our God is faithful and that He is sovereign over all of these things. Pray that we will trust in that, no matter the circumstances, and that through this difficulty, we would be faithful to give a reason for the Hope that is in us.

You are Invited to Bless and Care for Orphans. Please Do.

Friends, we know that not all feel called to adopt, but we are ALL called to care for the fatherless! (James 1:27)  Here is an opportunity to support the overwhelming need of orphan care. We hope that you will consider helping us to bless Rylee's orphanage when we travel to China in March. When a family adopts a child from China, there is an opportunity to give a donation to the child's orphanage. We would like to give 35,000 RMB (approximately $5200 USD) to help the children and their caretakers there.  You are invited to help in this blessing!
Rylee's orphanage has cared for her for her entire life. They have fed and clothed her, taught her, and tended to her medical needs. They have done the same for hundreds of other children, and they will continue to do so long after our Rylee is home with us. Most of the children in the orphanage have special needs, as our Rylee does. Many of them need medicines, surgeries, and other medical services. They need trained staff to care for the children. They need food, bedding, clothes, furniture, school supplies, and everything babies and children need for their daily lives.
This money will NOT be for our family or for our adoption costs. We will take it to China and give it directly to the orphanage director on adoption day. We pray it will bless and help many children and caretakers.

Please prayerfully consider how you may generously give. Every donation, large or small, will help. Thank you!
